Cloud Advisor is a unified platform that analyzes all layers of cloud infrastructure, from cloud configuration and Kubernetes clusters to operating systems and software running on virtual machines and containers.
Cloud Advisor enhances the agentless scanner for virtual machines and containers. It now includes the following modules:
The updated Cost Optimization module now collects data about the memory used by resources and makes recommendations based on this data. Cloud Advisor analyzes memory for both managed services and databases and virtual machines. Depending on the platform, memory usage data is collected via API, Cloud Eye agent or Yandex Unified Agent. If memory usage information is not available, the user is offered a choice between recommending configurations with the current resource memory size or without considering memory.
The new version of Cloud Advisor includes a Host Configuration module that validates the operating system settings of virtual machines deployed in the public cloud against the Center of Internet Security's “Linux CIS Benchmark” standard.
VMware Cloud Director (VCD) is another cloud platform supported by Cloud Advisor, along with AWS, Azure, GCP and Huawei Cloud.
The new version of Cloud Advisor includes an Antimalware module that scans virtual machines and container images in the public cloud. The module searches for ransomware, trojans, viruses, miners, and other malware.
Cloud Advisor introduces a number of changes to the Cost Optimization module
The new version of Cloud Advisor protects managed Kubernetes clusters located in Huawei Cloud.
We are pleased to announce support for Google Cloud Platform, becoming the sixth cloud provider supported by Cloud Advisor, in addition to Yandex.Cloud, Cloud, AWS, Azure and Huawei Cloud. Cloud Advisor allows you to connect any number of clouds/directories/projects/accounts of the listed providers and get information on the status of your multi-cloud infrastructure on a single dashboard.
The new version of Cloud Advisor identifies and prioritizes vulnerabilities in operating systems, packages and libraries on cloud-based virtual machines.
The new Compliance Center in Cloud Advisor shows which regulatory requirements are being met and which are not, and which resources are non-compliant. Reporting is available in the web console and can be downloaded in pdf format for audit purposes when required.
When the cloud is deployed in tens or hundreds of accounts and contains thousands of different objects, the question of governance and visibility of the cloud infrastructure becomes acute.
